Thank you for taking time to learn more about Charleston Wealth Management (CWM). Our new blog has finally arrived. Occasionally we will include profiles of interesting people and cutting edge companies, or highlight non-profit groups and events that deserve special mention. Contact me if you would like to be included!

In this initial post I would like to share a little about what it is like to work with me and partner with CWM. I take pride in my work and help my clients:

  • Position their portfolios or accounts to improve investment performance potential
  • Control investment risk and improve the risk-reward characteristics of your investments
  • Instill structure and discipline to the investment process, to minimize emotional decision making
  • Organize investments into a cohesive portfolio and strategy reflecting your goals and objectives
  • Provide ongoing oversight, adjusting to changing market conditions and investment fundamentals
  • Facilitate financial and estate planning needs, and help to ensure your best interests being served

My clients choose CWM for my:

  • Experience – For 14 years, I have served private clients and businesses as their Financial Advisor. I have experience managing investment accounts in a variety of market conditions, and have advanced training in investments and wealth management services.
  • Competence – I am a full-time financial professional. When working with CWM, the CEO handles your affairs personally. I spend a great deal of time each day monitoring the markets and researching investments for my clients and I take full responsibility for all decisions that impact my clients’ welfare.
  • Character – I believe people view me as a genuinely nice, ethical guy. I have always been conscientious about maintaining good credit and a clean compliance record, and I’m proud of the fact that I have been able to maintain long-standing client relations. My wife and I have been married for 20 years. We have a son and a daughter in high school, preparing for college. Maintaining a home office has been a terrific way to balance quality time with my family and the demands my career. I’m active with variety of business, civic and non-profit organizations and have served on a number boards and committees over the years.
  • Compassion – As a father, husband and business owner, I understand the challenges of caring for family and saving enough money to secure a comfortable retirement. Over the years, I have seen the devastating effects that bear markets and interest rate swings can have on investors who are inadequately prepared for these events. It is also heart breaking to encounter situations where investors have received bad investment advice. I view my clients as an extension of my own family. I care deeply about their welfare and work hard to ensure that I am providing sound advice and excellent customer service.
  • Trust – Trust is paramount. I have gone to great lengths to structure all aspects of my business to inspire client trust and confidence. With respect to investment recommendations, clients appreciate LPL’s model of offering only non-proprietary investments, which minimizes potential conflicts of interest. And most of my clients work with me on an advisory basis, which means they receive my services and investment products free from commissions or sales charges. This arrangement aligns our interests and puts us on the same side of the table with the objective of growing and protecting their wealth.
  • Responsiveness – Providing excellent client service is our top priority. I maintain a flexible work schedule often meeting with clients on evenings and weekends. I am also diligent about responding to emails and returning messages in a timely manner, and clients have my cell phone numbers and direct access to a dedicated team of LPL client service professionals.
